Getting Started - The Title Page & Bibliography
1. Pick an electronic technology (i.e.computer, ipod, play station, t.v., etc.).
2. Open PowerPoint (Red P icon on the desktop screen or your can search for it in the search field at the bottom of your screen).
3. Complete the title page (See Slide 1 below).
Slide 1
Title Page: Include title (name of the technology your report is about), your full name, the date, and a picture (The picture should not be the background).
Design matters! Click on the Design tab and pick a style.
All of your pictures and words need to be animated with an Entrance.
- Click on your a text box or picture, then click on the Animations tab, then choose an Entrance (green stars).
- The title should come in first, then the information, then the picture.
Slide Transitions do not count as animation! You may use them, but you must also animate each piece of content (titles, words, and pictures).
As you get pictures and information for your slide show YOU NEED TO put the URL's (website addresses) where you got the pictures and info into the bibliography.
Make sure you put the URL (i.e. www.igotmypicturehere.com) of the website that the pictures and information comes from in your bibliography as you go - The pictures DO NOT come from google.com or bing.com. Google and Bing just points you to the website where the picture actually comes from.
As you add more slides, drag the bibliography to the bottom in the left column where you see "thumbnails" of all of your slides.
Under the Home tab, click on the New Slide button.
In the "Click to add title" box, type in "Bibliography"
In the text box below the title, copy and paste the website URLs (www.'s) for the webpages that you get your pictures and information.

Animate the different slide titles together, not one at a time!
To Create Hyperlinks
Click on Insert > Shapes and pick a shape that would be good for a button
Then right click on the shape and click on the Hyperlink option.
On the far left there is a button that says, "Place in this Document". Select this button.
Under the Slide Title menu, select the slide that corresponds with the button. Continue this process until your table of contents is complete.
The Body (Slides 3-7)
You must answer the questions using complete sentences.
You must have at least one picture per slide (Square and rectangular pictures need to have a border around them). Do not make it the background of the slide!
Slide 3: When was it invented, created, or released?
Slide 4: Who invented, created, or released it?
- It may not be a single person that invented it. It is most likely a corportation like Sony, Apple Computers, etc
Slide 5: What is it used for?
-Give a detailed description of all of its uses. What do you do with it?
Slide 6: How does it work?
- Explain how you use it. Give the specifics of how you make it work.
- Use arrows and text boxes to point out the controls and/or buttons.
DO NOT USE A PICTURE FROM THE INTERNET THAT ALREADY HAD THE DIAGRAM DRAWN OUT!
Diagram Example
Slide 7: Why did you choose the technology that you chose?
- Explain your reasons for choosing the technology you chose. Please have a good detailed explanation.
